Businesses and homes targeted in spate of burglaries

A well known restaurant was badly damaged in the latest in a spate of burglaries in Galway this week.

Mother Hubbard’s in Kilcolgan was broken into on Tuesday night and a number of items were stolen.

Considerable damage was done to the premises in the raid. Meanwhile, on the same night thieves broke into Loughrea Plant and Tool Hire and stole several items. A dark Ford Focus with an 01 G registration was seen outside both premises on the night.

A house in Forster Court, in Galway city was broken into at some time between midnight and 12 noon on Sunday. Thieves entered the house through the back door and made off with a Playstation 3 and two controllers.

A house in Lurgan Park was broken into overnight on Sunday when someone entered through a back window and stole a sum of money and a purple iPod.

On Wednesday June 3 a house in Snipe Lawn was burgled overnight. A Panasonic digital camera, a JVC camcorder, and a Sony laptop were stolen.
