[Closed] Win two tickets to Irish National Opera’s Così fan tutte & More!

Coming to Leisureland on Monday May 29 at 8pm, Mozart's Così fan tutte is one of the composer’s best-loved operas. Audiences are thrilled by the fabulous score, hilarous plot-twists and of course, healthy doses of love, lies and deceit.

Two young men, Guglielmo and Ferrando, make a wager with an older man, Don Alfonso, that their fiancées, Fiordiligi and Dorabella, will remain faithful under any circumstances. But Don Alfonso controls the men's actions with the help of a conniving maid, Despina, and the women are each won over by the other's man.

With sharp comedy and heartfelt music in equal measure, INO's production is star studded with a rollcall of highly-praised performers - five, whom out of six, are Irish.

The role of Guglielmo is sung by Italian baritone Gianluca Margheri (“a magnificently rounded and resonant performance” - Sunday Independent ), with Clare tenor Dean Power as Ferrando (“Well-deserved applause for impeccable vocal performances” - Neue Musikzeitung ). Don Alfonso is Offaly-born bass John Molloy (“commands attention whatever he's up to” - The Irish Times ). Fiordiligi is sung by Dublin soprano Anna Devin (“vocal control...artistry and musico-dramatic intelligence” - Opera News ) and Dorabella by Sharon Carty (“a memerising performance” - Sunday Independent ). And Despina is Cork soprano Majella Cullagh (“glorious” - The Guardian ).

The conductor is Peter Whelan, who last year won a coveted Olivier Award for his work with the Irish Baroque Orchestra in INO's co-production of Vivaldi's Bajazet with the Royal Opera in London. He says, “Così fan tutte is one of Mozart’s most brilliantly colourful and vibrant scores. Inspired by the wit and vitality of Lorenzo da Ponte’s libretto, the opera still feels immediate and fresh today.”
