Pernet CLG, a local organisation committed to promoting education and relieving disadvantage and social exclusion, will hold its social gathering at Galway Rowing Club on Sunday May 28 at 6.30pm.
The event will feature a celebration of the important role played by the Little Sisters of the Assumption and will include the screening of a documentary about the sisters who lived in Galway.
Pernet volunteers are keeping alive the mission and spirituality of the sisters’ founders Stephen Pernet and Antoinette Fage. “We are inviting people to come along to offer their support to carve out a journey that we can move forward together,” says a spokesperson for the organisation. “We need each other’s support in such a fractured world. We are here in Galway as a result of a woman who spoke up on 1970.”
The social gathering will include a disco from 8pm to 10pm. Tickets which cost €10 will include finger food. There will be a raffle to cover expenses.
