The Opel Mokka-e has become even more powerful and efficient - and it even has a new name.
Now known as the Opel Mokka Electric, the winner of the Golden Steering Wheel 2021 and Continental Tyres Irish Small SUV of the Year 2022, is now available with a larger battery and more power. Prices start at €36,880.
With its new 54 kWh battery, Opel says Mokka Electric drivers can cover up to 406km instead of up to 338km emission-free.
At the same time, energy consumption has decreased to 15.2 kWh per 100km (WLTP ) and 80 per cent state-of-charge is reached in just 30 minutes at a 100 kW DC charging station, the brand adds.
The stylish Mokka was the first Opel to wear the new brand face, the Opel Vizor, and was also the first Opel with the fully digitised Pure Panel cockpit.
In addition, it was the first Opel available from launch with fully electric drive as well as highly efficient combustion engines, thus giving customers the choice of which drive suits their needs best. That choice is already predominantly electric.
The model also offers the choice of three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport. In Eco mode, the vehicle is most energy-efficient in favour of the overall range.
Opel Astra wins Red Dot Award
A panel of 43 experts has awarded the new Opel Astra a Red Dot Award 2023 in the "Product Design" category, adding yet another accolade to its growing international trophy cabinet.
As one of the world's largest design competitions, the Red Dot Award has been recognising innovative design for over six decades, this year evaluating products from 60 countries.
The new Opel Astra, Continental Tyres Irish Compact Car of the Year 2023; German Compact Car of the Year 2023; and a Golden Steering Wheel 2022 award-winner, impressed judges at first sight, with its "bold and pure design".
The multi-award-winning Opel Astra is available in petrol, diesel, plug-in electric hybrid and soon, as a fully electric five-door hatchback and Sports Tourer estate.
Opel GSe electrified performance models here
With the revival of the Opel GSe badge, pricing and equipment details of two new, special-order GSe models have been released by the company for the Irish market.
The new Opel Astra plug-in electric hybrid GSe 225hp hatchback retails from €52,695 plus delivery-related charges. It has an impressive standard specification.
Meanwhile, Opel’s new flagship model, the Grandland GSe 300hp AWD retails from €59,995 plus delivery. It too comes with a high standard spec.
Both models are available in dealerships nationwide now, and Opel says the Astra Sports Tourer GSe model will complete the range later this year.
The Opel GSe label was traditionally an abbreviation of Grand Sport Einspritzung (Grand Sport Injection ) as on the Opel Commodore GS/E. Nowadays, the Opel Monza GSE. GSe is now Opel’s top-of-the-range, sporty sub-brand, standing for Grand Sport electric.
