Toyota still leading the Irish car sales charts

Toyota has continued this year as Ireland’s best-selling car brand.

For three years in a row, it has been in pole position, and recently it closed out the first quarter of this year with a leading market share of 14.62 per cent.

The Japanese brand sold 8,498 passenger cars in this first quarter, with 2,199 more than the next best seller, according to SIMI figures.

Toyota has five models in the top 10 best-selling models in Ireland to date in 2023 - the Corolla, Yaris Cross, C-HR, Yaris and RAV4 have all posted impressive numbers.

The latest SIMI figures (April 2023 ) also place the Corolla, Yaris Cross, and C-HR as the third, fourth and fifth best-sellers in Ireland to date this year.

Sales of hybrid electric models made up 88.4 per cent of Toyota passenger cars sold in the first quarter.
