Galwayman Evan Kilmartin allowed the razor near his generous locks when he volunteered to be shaved for Cancer Care West last weekend.
The event, held in Cois Cuain in Spiddal last weekend, raised €5,437 for the charity
“I shaved my head in an effort to help raise funds for Cancer Care West and a few more people also joined me in shaving their heads as well.” he told the Advertiser.
“There were also some brave people who got other areas of their body’s waxed as well, so far play to them.
“It was brilliant to see such a great turnout on the night with everyone having a great time and a laugh and all for such a great cause.
“To finish off the night there was a raffle with some amazing spot prizes to be won that were generously donated by local businesses ranging from vouchers to hotel get-aways. I’d just like to thank everyone for their support on the night it was an absolutely amazing event and I’m delighted that I was able to raise funds for Cancer Care West,” he concluded.
