On Saturday morning next, May 6, as part of the Darkness into Light initiative in support of Pieta House, a Galway based swimming community, Gentle Swimming, is hosting a dawn swim at the Big Beach, Salthill.
Anyone who would like to support Darkness into Light is welcome to come along, for what should be a unique experience, welcoming the dawn of a new day, while exploring the beauty of being immersed in the ocean.
Participants are invited to come along to the Big Beach at 5.30am, to be in the water for 5.45am and to welcome the dawn at 5.55am.
A special book will be provided and participants can write the names of loved ones in memory. A flame of light will burn brightly and afterwards teas and treats will be served.
