Mayor’s Ball is back and will benefit four local charities

BY DECLAN VARLEY

Mayor of Galway City, Clodagh Higgins has confirmed that the City’s Mayoral Ball will take place on Friday May 12 at the Ardilaun Hotel.

This is the first time that the Ball has been held in four years and the chosen charities for the 2023 annual black tie event were revealed at a launch event in the Ardilaun Hotel on Tuesday evening.

The four deserving charities which will benefit from the proceeds of the Ball include Galway Parkinson’s Association, Galway Sick Kids Foundation, Féileacáin and Galway Down Syndrome.

Mayor Higgins said she is acutely aware of the wonderful support these charities provide, day and night, to families and service users in our community, and that she is delighted to be in a position to support them.

Tickets for this year’s Mayor’s Ball are expected to be in high demand, as it is the first Mayor’s Ball to be held since 2019.

Tickets for the Ball are priced at €100 each and are available from Friday on Eventbrite, or at the Treasure Chest, William Street.
