Described as one of the “best bands in the world” by the late Nirvana singer and guitarist, Kurt Cobain, Scottish sensations Teenage Fanclub will perform at the historic Seapoint Ballroom in Salthill on Wednesday, June 14 as part of the Galway Folk Festival.
With support from Paddy Dennehy, it will be a night of powerful indie and alternative rock, as the band delve into their back catalogue and recent work. Punctuated with driving rhythms, poetic lyrics and anthems with a ‘60s and ‘70s flair, it’s set to be one of the highlights of the Galway Folk Festival 2023.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Teenage Fanclub come to Galway as part of the Galway Folk Festival 2023,” said festival organiser, Peter O’Sullivan of Monroe’s Live.
“They were one of the first bands I saw play live back in 1997 with Radiohead in Dublin. So it's a highlight for both myself and the festival to bring them to Galway this year.
“Their music has stood the test of time and their live performances are unforgettable. We’re sure their performance at the Seapoint Ballroom will be one of the festival’s standout moments.”
