Incessant rain encourages us to seek summer sun

If you have been living in the west and looking out your window over the past few days, you will be forgiven by allowing your mind wander to the summertime and your holiday plans.

Thoughts of adventure and sun and swimming and sangria and whatever other S activities might come to mind will be foremost, but after two or three years of restricted travel and limitations and concerns, now is the time to giove yourself the freedom to travel the world again, even if it does not bring you beyond these shores.

We are fortunate to live between two very good airports in Ireland West and Shannon, both of which are convenient and have loads of superb destinations on their schedules. Also check out Fahy Travel in Galway for the great offers they have on a variety of exciting holidays.

But first, get out a notebook and start ticking off what might rock your boat (metaphorically ) this summer.

When planning your summer holiday, there are several important things to consider. Here are some factors you may want to look for:

Destination: Choose a destination that suits your interests and preferences. Consider what type of vacation you want, whether it is a relaxing beach getaway, an adventurous outdoor excursion, or a cultural city break.

Budget: Determine how much money you are willing to spend on your holiday and look for destinations and accommodations that fit within your budget.

Travel time: Consider how much time you have available for your holiday and how long it will take to travel to your destination. If you only have a short amount of time, consider destinations that are closer to home.

Accommodation: Look for accommodations that suit your needs, whether it is a hotel, a vacation rental, or a camping site. Consider factors such as location, amenities, and cost.

Activities: Consider what activities you want to do on your holiday and look for destinations that offer those activities. Whether it is water sports, hiking, or cultural experiences, make sure your destination has plenty of options for things to do.

Weather: Check the weather conditions of your destination during the summer months and choose a location that has the climate you prefer.

Safety: Look for destinations that are safe and have low crime rates. Check travel advisories and research any potential safety concerns before booking your holiday.

By considering these factors, you can plan a summer holiday that meets your needs and ensures you have a memorable and enjoyable experience. So, you can now look that rain in the eye and look forward to your summer fun.
