NTA review of city bus routes next month

Fine Gael Councillor Eddie Hoare has this week received confirmation that the National Transport Authority will be completing a review of the Galway city bus routes in April. As part of the review there will be public consultation.

Cllr Hoare, a long time supporter of the bus route to service Circular Road and the large residential developments on Letteragh Road has welcomed this news.

“I will be pushing strongly for an extension of the 404 bus route to include bus stops to service Circular Road and the new estates on Letteragh Road. We need more stops and more frequency. This is also the case for residents of rural Bushypark along the N59.

“For too long the residents of Circular Road, Letteragh Road and rural Bushypark have been left with no option but to take private cars when travelling to Galway City Centre.

“This needs to change and now is the time. In advance of this public consultation I will be writing to Patrick Greene, Director of Transport in Galway City Council, to re-enforce this message on behalf of the local residents of the area,” he said.
