Fans of The Boss will be rocking into Monroe’s Live on March 10 as Irish 6-piece tribute band, Glory Days will celebrate the legacy of Bruce Springsteen by reigniting his back-to-back hits. Together, the group recreate the energy and dynamism of the man who has garnered a legion of fans across the globe with a catalogue that became the music of generations.
Affectionately known as ‘The Boss’ thanks to his early career with the E-Street band, Bruce Springsteen has a repertoire that has gained him iconic status worldwide. Now Ireland’s very own Glory Days are set to revisit the timeless classics that catapulted him to fame.
From ‘Born To Run’ and’ I’m On Fire’ to ‘My Hometown’ and ‘The Rising’, Glory Days will deliver the magic of Springsteen to a Galway audience. Not only that, but their set list includes more recent releases such as ‘Tucson Train’ and ‘Letter to You’.
Having been selected to play at the July 4 American embassy event in Dublin, the band are fast gaining a solid reputation for their high-octane performances and dedication to the work of Bruce Springsteen.
Lead singer, Christy Trimble, is a lifelong fan and his deep, gravelly vocals are testament to his enthusiasm for the acclaimed American songwriter. With a sound that is true to the original artist, the band has a wealth of experience in both recording and touring. Now, they have formed as Glory Days to honour the anthems of The Boss both past and present.
Alongside Austin O’Keefe on keyboards and backing vocals, Ed Sweeney as lead guitarist, Ivor Graham on drums, Bob Masala on base and Antonello D’Orazio on sax, Christy brings the songs to life. A firm fan since he was 12 years old, he hasn’t missed a Bruce Springsteen concert in Ireland and the UK.
After a long hiatus from the music industry, he was encouraged by his late wife to delve into his passion and create a Springsteen tribute show. Following a musical friendship formed in their teens, Christy and Austin reunited to spark the idea and form the band. With sold out shows across the country, they are going from strength to strength since 2018.
“We like to stay as authentic as possible,” says Christy. “We love a bit of banter and audience participation. It’s a wide mix from the early ‘70s ‘til now and even includes some songs that were never released. We have songs off every album.”
