NUIG V CLAREGALWAY:

(Sun 3pm – Pearse Stadium)

The thing about NUIG is that you can never be sure who will turn up for them on any given Sunday.

On their day, and if they have a full squad, they are a match for anyone. Let’s be honest here, most football people in Galway don’t even like to see them in the competition. However, if they are, they deserve fair play and not skulduggery.

Martin Kelly and young Danny Cummins showed well for Claregalway in their defeat to Milltown, but assumingNUIG are anyway organised, they should have a few young defenders to nullify them.

Sunday at 3pm will not suit college as many of their players may be involved with their home clubs and some county managers may not even be prepared to release them for NUIG duty. Those issues do give Claregalway reason for hope, but that optimism may be extinguished next Sunday afternoon.

Silke’s Prediction: NUIG
