Start your career in IT with a 10-week online course starting on April 24. This online self-directed course will have one online workshop per week through a learning platform with a tutor. The tutor will provide support for the rest of the week.
This introductory course to basic IT knowledge and skills will help participants to decide if a career in IT is right for them or to develop a broader understanding of IT.
Modules include:
· IT concepts and terminology: Illustrate the basics of computing and explain the value of data and troubleshooting.
· Software development: Comprehend programming language categories, interpret logic, and understand the purpose of programming concepts.
· Infrastructure: Set up and install common peripheral devices to a laptop/PC or secure a basic wireless network.
· Applications and software: Manage applications software and understand the various components of an operating system.
· Security: Understand confidentiality, integrity, and availability concerns of secure devices.
Participants who choose this course will be able to source entry level employment in the following IT roles:
