Learn more about the University of Galway MBA at upcoming virtual open evening

University of Galway’s AMBA and AACSB accredited MBA programme, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, will host a virtual MBA open evening on January 19 at 6pm. The open evening is a great opportunity to learn about the programme and to meet MBA faculty, students, and graduates.

Yvonne Comer, former rugby international, CEO and co-founder at RugbySmarts, and National Businesswoman of the Year Winner STEM 2022, discusses what influenced her decision to undertake an MBA at University of Galway:

“One of the most crucial factors behind choosing the MBA at University of Galway was that it had a globally recognised accreditation, and that the quality of the programme was endorsed by its alumni," she said. "Having recently returned from the UK, the time was right to broaden my knowledge across new business functions such as financial management, enhance my leadership skills, and develop a strong professional network in Ireland.

"Being geared towards real-world outcomes was particularly important with my interest in entrepreneurship and innovation. I’ve since become CEO and co-founder of a sports tech company that specialises in automation of video analytics. The knowledge and skills gained have helped bring RugbySmarts from ideation through to commercialisation. It positions you perfectly to develop and manage a business effectively and has given confidence that I’ve a robust decision-making process around all functions. It’s provided a strong understanding of how to adapt in the ever changing, evolving environment of a start-up and grow a successful company.”

An MBA is the one of the most prestigious business degrees globally, and the AMBA (Association of MBAs ) accredited University of Galway MBA is one of the leading programmes in the country. For further information and to register for the virtual open evening, visit www.universityofgalway.ie/mba
