Remembering Thin Lizzy at Monroe’s Live

When Thin Lizzy gained a top hit with Whiskey in the Jar following its release in 1972, it was the beginning of a rich musical legacy that sealed their place as one of Ireland’s leading bands on the worldwide stage. The sheer lyrical talent and presence of vocalist and bass player, Phil Lynott, left an indelible imprint on the international music scene. With a life cut short at the tender age of 36, he had already garnered a global following that continues to this day.

Now, his work is set to come to life once again through Remembering Lizzy, with their annual tribute to the Thin Lizzy icon taking place at Monroe’s Live on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 9pm. Thin Lizzy’s inimitable style of rock, blues, metal and soul charted a course that filled stadiums across the UK, Europe and America.

With millions of albums sold, they became a tour-de-force throughout the 1970s, with lasting hits such as ‘The Boys Are Back in Town’, ‘Jailbreak’ and ‘Waiting for an Alibi’. Embarking on a solo career in the 1980s, Phil Lynott continued his chart success before his untimely death in 1986. Through Remembering Lizzy, his acclaimed song writing and classic rock stylings will return to the stage at Monroe’s Live to celebrate one of the era’s most sought after artists.

Marking 37 years since his passing, this Phil Lynott remembrance gig at Monroe’s Live on January 13, 2023, will pay homage to the talent and global appeal of one of Ireland’s leading lights. Tickets to the event cost €12 and are available from www.monroes.ie
