Music Generation Programmes inspire young music talent

An inspirational evening was had at Galway Community College, Wellpark Road last Thursday as local young musicians taking part in Music Generation Programmes from local youth services such as Foróige picked up electric guitars, keyboards or microphones and drew in their audience. Another special treat came from TUSLA family services staff who strongly supported the young musicians of tomorrow onstage.

For some young people this was their first time performing at such an event and the atmosphere and support provided in Galway’s newest Music Centre being developed in Galway Community college struck a postive note for performance music education. The programme has reached over 3,000 young people this year with over 30 Musicians working 50 community locations, schools and youth services and the concert took place in the newly developing GCC Music Centre.
