After a record year of entries in 2021, the Audiology Medical Service’s ‘Christmas Carol School Competition’ returns for the third year. Schools throughout Ireland are invited to submit videos singing their favourite Christmas songs to win a cash prize of €1000.
Primary schools nationwide are eligible to enter, with teachers required to email a video/link of their entry to Audiology Medical Services. Submissions are welcomed in a wide range of styles, with extra points given for Lámh or sign language. Shortlisted finalists are selected by a panel of judges, with winners chosen by public vote.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Operating Officer, Kay Lewis, said: “Our Christmas Carol School Competition highlights the tremendous musical talent of Irish children while celebrating the joy of Christmas and highlighting the important role our hearing plays in creating lasting memories and helping experience Christmas to the fullest.”
Kay added: “We’re also running a Christmas Colouring Competition to win a €100 shopping voucher and, for the first time, we want to hear the children of Ireland’s best jokes to be published in a Children’s Joke Book set to be launched in Spring 2023.”
