Celebrate the best Irish restaurants with the Just Eat Awards

The Just Eat Awards are back for the ninth year and voting is now open – it is time to celebrate the very best of Irish restaurants, giving them the recognition they deserve for their commitment to delivery excellence.

Making greatness is the theme of this year's awards, which were launched this week by TV presenter and podcast host Muireann O'Connell. The awards recognise that for restaurants, creating and preparing delicious food is more than just a job – it is an art. Their passion, and dedication to excellence shines through in every dish that is brought to our doorstep.

This year, more than 150 restaurants have been shortlisted across 16 different award categories, including the Best Chinese, Best Pizzeria, Best Newcomer, and the new Sustainability Award which recognises restaurants using eco-friendly packaging, reducing food waste, and finding innovative ways to promote sustainability.

Food lovers across the country can now vote for one or more of their favourite local restaurants, whether that is their number one local independent takeaway or a well-loved chain that always hits the spot.

Voting closes on December 31 and everyone who casts a vote will be in with a chance to win free takeaway for a year. More than 68,000 public votes were cast in 2021, making it the highest year to date, and Just Eat is hoping to surpass these figures this year.

The Just Eat Awards winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in Dublin hosted by Muireann O’Connell in February 2023.

“We’re thrilled to announce that the Just Eat Awards are back for the ninth year running, celebrating the best restaurants across Ireland," Amanda Roche-Kelly, managing director at Just Eat Ireland, said this week. "Over the last nine years, hundreds of locally loved restaurants have been recognised, giving the hardworking individuals behind Ireland’s favourite food spots their moment to shine on a national stage.

"This year the Just Eat Awards are all about celebrating greatness - we’re here to champion passion, dedication, and above all unforgettable food. I would like to encourage people all over Ireland to support their local restaurants and cast their vote before December 31 to show their support for this year’s highly deserving finalists.”
