This chance meeting ended in a personal invitation by The Frames lead singer to join him on-stage at the Everyman Theatre in Cork.
Since then, Dennehy’s ability to captivate an audience with his lyrics and unique vocal sound has led him to supporting the likes of Imelda May, Mick Flannery, and Lisa Hannigan. Dennehy writes from the heart. Tales of love, loneliness and personal recollections are interwoven into his music.
Deeply influenced by Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen, Dennehy is ultimately a storyteller. As such, he has connected with a loyal following, especially in the wake of appearances on The Late Late Show and on stage at Electric Picnic.
Originally from County Limerick, Dennehy wrote his upcoming album from the seclusion of his father’s farm. This rural location gave him a chance to reflect, crafting a classic masterpiece that is set to become integral to the Irish music scene.
