A public meeting marking the tenth anniversary of the death of Savita Halappanavar will be held upstairs in Richardsons Bar, Eyre Square on Monday 25 at 7pm.
The meeting is being organised by the Galway branch of the Socialist Party and Socialist Feminist group ROSA. The tragic death of Savita here in University Hospital Galway was the catalyst for the abortion rights campaign that succeeded in repealing the Eighth Amendment that had restricted rights to abortion and bodily atonomy up until the point.
This meeting precedes a march that will take place in Dublin on Saturday October 29 at 1pm starting at the Garden of Remembrance at Parnell Square.
