Galway County Council Arts Office proudly presents Ceol an Fhómhair Tuam as part of the ‘Local Live Performance Programming Scheme’ on Saturday 1st of October at The Palace Grounds, Tuam.
This free event kicks off a 5pm and is headlined by Tracy Bruen and Anna Mullarkey with exciting performances from upcoming artists The Rosecaps and local Tuam band The Restricted as well as solo artists Sarah Brookfield and Jayden Murphy.
Tracy Bruen, Galway Advertiser’s Solo Artist of the Year 2015, is a multi-instrumentalist, whose music seamlessly blends and bends the genres of folk, prog, pop, and indie. Her music is crafted around her spellbinding vocals, stories and theatrical flair. Tracy launched her debut album, Mirror, in June of this year.
Anna Mullarkey is a composer and performer, who weaves electronics with piano and voice. Having grown up in the west of Ireland, Anna draws inspiration from the sea for her compositions. The Irish Times called her “phenomenal” and Irish Theatre Magazine described her music as “if a sultry ménage of Björk/Billie Holiday/Philip Glass got together at the Wickerman Festival.”
The Rosecaps are a Galway-based indie-rock band consisting of Daniel O’Malley, Emmet Feerick, and Shane Fahy. A Hot Press review of their recent single ‘The Wall’ describes strong vocals, a catchy melody, powerful drum beats, and excellent lyrics.
The Restricted are a rock band of Tuam natives; Conor Ó Domhnaill, Jason Lambert, Kenny Costello and Cathal Curran. Their debut single ‘Working on a Dream’ is out now.
Sarah Brookfield is a singer/songwriter from Headford, growing up she was always fascinated by the sights and sounds of local bands and musicians, her music is heavily inspired by a mix of 90s alternative music, soft indie folk and rock.
Jayden Murphy is a singer/songwriter from Tuam. Jayden plays both the drums and guitar and has an interest in music production. His single ‘Silver Lines’ is out now.
This free concert is at The Palace Grounds, Tuam from 5pm to 10pm on Saturday the 1st of October. Grab your friends and come along to support amazing emerging artists Sarah Brookfield and Jayden Murphy, bands The Rosecaps and The Restricted alongside Tracy Bruen and Anna Mullarkey. It will be a night filled with great music, fun and, an amazing atmosphere!
