Irish critically-acclaimed new drama Hole in the Head to screen at the EYE Cinema

The EYE Cinema is proud to screen for a limited time only the critically acclaimed experimental feature film by director Dean Kavanagh Hole in the Head from this Friday 30th September.

Hole in the Head is an independent production embroidered through a tapestry of retrograde and contemporary media formats. The project was brought to life by a dedicated team of artists with nearly two decades experience in the film industry.

In Hole in the Head the protagonist - a mute projectionist and amateur filmmaker - re-stages his family’s home movies in order to recall a traumatic event. Melding new with old technologies and a film-within-a-film structure, Hole in the Head proposes a hauntological discourse on autofiction, trauma and private ritual.

The filming of Hole in the Head took place across the island of Ireland throughout 2020 and 2021 with an international cast and crew and funded by The Arts Council.

Hole in the Head plays daily from Fri 30th September at 7pm: visit https://www.eyecinema.ie/movie/hole-in-the-head to pre-book your ticket and check out the trail
