Renmore AFC produced a strong first-round performance on Sunday to advance to the second round of the U16 Connacht Cup.
Despite a bright opening from the Mayo side in which they carved a coupe of early chances, Renmore took control to overcome Manulla 9-0.
Renmore's first score came through Charlie Evans with a strong header off a Lorcan Carter cross. This settled the Galway city side as they went on to add a second from Luke O'Cualin in the 18th minute.
When Evan Healy added another two to made the score 4-0 at half-time, there was not stopping the Galway outift. Goals from Daragh Finnerty and Juan Newell at the start of the second half made it 6-0 before Ronan Barrett added two goals in quick succession. It was left to Thomas McDonagh to bag the final goal of the game, the right wing pushing the score to 9-0 as Renmore progress to the second round.
