Galway Youth Orchestra, which is celebrating 40 years of bringing young people from both county and city together to make beautiful music, will hold its Autumn Auditions on Saturday September 3, in the Anno Santo Hotel, Threadneedle Rd, Salthill from 10am to 12pm.
If you are between 7-20 years old , they will have an ensemble to suit. Violin, viola, cello, double Bass, flute, clarinet,froboe, bassoon, all brass instruments and percussion players are welcome to audition.
Being a player in an orchestra teaches young people how to function interactively in a team, they learn patience and perseverance and are emotionally uplifted by playing music as part of a body of instrumentalists. As well as meeting new like-minded people they will become more confident, have a regular creative outlet and above all, they will have fun.
