Galway Youth Theatre is currently recruiting new members for its two-year performance course starting at the end of September.
The theatre performance course is open to those aged 16 to 26. It takes place two evenings per week (Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm or 8pm to 10pm on both days ) for 10 weeks each term; September to December and January to March at the Nuns Island Theatre and Galway Arts Centre.
Workshops take place in the evenings to accommodate members who are in education or employment. Workshops include improvisation, characterisation, voice work, history of European, American, and Irish theatre, movement, script study, and specialist workshops from visiting theatre practitioners. Members will also take part in a variety of productions throughout the year.
On completion of year one members have the option and are encouraged to continue to year two.
