Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB ) presents a comprehensive Pitman Training payroll course, which provides a thorough introduction to payroll principles in the manual section and in the computerised section.
Learners create real life payroll scenarios using Sage Micropay software, in addition to learning about PAYE modernisation. This course is fully funded under the Skills to Advance initiative for those in employment.
The course takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9.30pm, commencing on September 6.
Funded training is available for those in employment through the Skills To Advance initiative.
Topics covered include payroll roles and responsibilities, calculating tax, methods of taxation, understanding PRSI, protecting confidential data, Revenue requests, processing new starters, pension contributions, and reporting.
The course includes tutor support and Pitman Training certification, and course duration is eight weeks.
It is a requirement that participants will have previously completed a Level 4 certification and will have good computer skills with appropriate internet coverage.
