When choosing your summer footwear there are two points to take into consideration — the thickness of your ankles and the length of your legs.
If you have thick ankles you need to chose a heavier shoe to respect the proportions: For example, flat shoes such as chunky loafers or simple thong sandals would be very flattering. A simple rule applies for shoes with heels: choose a heavier heel to make your ankle appear thinner. Anything too delicate will make your feet look even thicker. Wedge mule are great for making ankles look slimmer.
If you are blessed with thin ankles you should look for delicate styles with delicate details. Pointed toe or open toe are more flattering than rounded toe shoes. Stay clear of chunky heels or heavy details as it will exaggerate the thinness of your ankles. A slender heel will always be more flattering on a thin ankle. Ankle straps are also very good on a thin ankle.
Long legs will look best in rounded toe, strappy styles or ankle boot styles as they will make your legs look curvier.
Short legs will look longer with closed pointed toe or peep toe styles, free from ankle straps. Look for a mid-height heel to keep you in proportion.
