American writers to read in Galway

WRITERS PARTAKING in NUI, Galway’s American Conference for Irish Studies, will do two special readings for Over The Edge in Sheridan’s Wine Bar.

Writers visiting Galway for the ACIS conference at NUIG will be reading alongside local poets at Sheridan’s on Wednesday June 10 and Friday 12. Both readings will start at 9pm.

On Wednesday, visiting writers Mary O’Donoghue, Joseph Lennon, Nathalie Anderson, Donna Potts, Drusilla Wall, Tyler Farrell, John Redmond, and Ray McManus will read alongside Maureen Gallagher, John Walsh, and Mary Madec.

On Friday 12 visiting writers Christine Casson, Ben Howard, Kathryn Kirkpatrick, Eamonn Wall, John Menaghan, Thomas O’Grady, Ed Madden, Daniel Tobin, and David Gardiner will read alongside Alan Jude Moore, Gary King, and Lorna Shaughnessy.

Over The Edge, in association with the American Conference for Irish Studies, will also host an evening of creative non-fiction, featuring visiting American writers and local writers on Thursday June 11 at 6.30pm in the Galway City Library.

The writers involved are American’s Jim Rogers, Christine Cusick, and Jim Murphy, and local writers Kevin Higgins and Patricia Burke Brogan.
