Connemara National Park will host regular information sessions on the Connemara pony this month, with sessions taking place at the park every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Connemara ponies are also on show along the Sruffaunboy Trail, along with some other heritage breeds in the national park including Moiled cattle.
The visitor centre is open daily and admission is free. Visitors can enjoy an exhibition on Connemara’s landscape, and there is a new 20 minute audiovisual film where visitors can find out all about Connemara National Park. A new self-guided tree trail allows visitors to explore the tree heritage of the national park.
The highlight of the summer events is the summer Wednesday evening lecture series, which has returned after a two year absence. Every Wednesday at 9pm there will be a lecture in the AV Theatre with a wide array of topics covered, from corncrakes to dark skies.
