Fíbín sa Taibhdhearc presents world premiere of MUC RÍ

From tonight, Thursday, as part of the Galway International Arts Festival, Fíbín sa Taibdhearc will update an ancient fable collected by Lady Gregory into a dystopian spectacle that will transform at Fr. Burke Park.

Audiences will be immersed in an ultra-bizarre surrealist world, where a live electronic band will create the atmosphere of a rock concert.

Set in an underground surgery, where a father and son perform illegal operations, Muc Rí is a Frankenstein-esque story about betrayal, the power of art, and the dangers of playing God.

This late night open air experience stars international contemporary dancer Eoin McDonncha, singing sensation Julie Feeney, and Irish actors Lochlann Ó Mearáin and Michéal Ó Dubhghaill.

MUC RÍ is written and directed by Philip Doherty. Set design is by Sabine Dargent. Lighting by Michael Cummins. Visuals by Marqu. Cast is Eoin Mac Donncha, Lochlann Ó Mearáin, Michéal Ó Dubhghaill. Musicians- Dessie Harrington, Bruno Pierucci and Jak Sherrard.

Preview night is tonight Thursday July 14 with tickets on sale at €15. For Friday and Saturday night, admission is €20 with a reducted rate available at €15.

The production is a late night spectacle in a park so suitable attire is advised to combat the chilly nights.
