Into the West celebrates its 30th Anniversary at The Galway Film Fleadh

Into the West, the award-winning family adventure film, will celebrate its 30th anniversary at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh.

Hailing from a defining era of Irish cinema, this beloved Irish classic follows two young boys Tito (Rúaidhrí Conroy ) and Ossie (Ciarán Fitzgerald ) on their runaway journey to rescue their mythical horse Tír na nÓg and fulfill their dreams of becoming cowboys.

Featuring a star-studded cast of Gabriel Byrne, David Reilly, Colm Meaney and Brendan Gleeson, Into the West was released to high acclaim in 1993.

The film captured the hearts of young and old alike and became a staple on Irish television screens throughout the nineties and early noughties. The film’s return to the fleadh this year gives audiences of all ages the chance to relive Ossie and Tito’s whirlwind adventure.

The Fleadh will present a big-screen presentation of Into the West on Sunday, July 10th at 2:30pm at the Town Hall Theater. The screening will be followed by a conversation with scriptwriter Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot, The Field, In America ), director Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Donnie Brasco ), and other key creatives and cast who brought this popular film to life.

Tickets can be purchased from the Town Hall Theatre’s box office or from their website www.tht.ie
