Killilea welcomes x-ray news for Tuam
Cllr Donagh Killilea ha
s welcomed the news that X-ray services will be available in Tuam shortly.
The rollout of these services is expected to be announced in the coming months following a meeting of the HSE Regional Health Forum earlier this week.
“This is wonderful news for the people of east and north Galway, there has not been an Xray service in Tuam since the closure of The Grove Hospital in 2000,” Cllr Killilea says.
“Furthermore the roll out of Xray and audible diagnostic services within the Tuam area will certainly alleviate the crowding of the A&E in GUH, it is a vital service that will enhance the new services rolled out at our primary care centre.
“I also welcome the announcement today there is will be a third MRI at GUH and a second MRI at Portiuncula Hospital which is in place right now.”
It is anticipated that the service at the Tuam centre will operate from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
