Cllr Eddie Hoare has welcomed the rollout of fibre powered broadband in Galway.
A number of areas are now ready for connection under the National Broadband Plan. Furthermore, Open Eir has been rolling out its IFN Fibre network and a number of other areas have access to this network.
Cllr Eddie Hoare has worked closely with both National Broadband Ireland and Open Eir to ensure more areas are included in rollouts in the city and county. “I’ve received countless representations in relation to broadband in a number of areas locally,” he says.
“The likes of Circular Road, Chestnut Lane, Ballagh Road, Mincloon, Rahoon, Bushypark and other areas in the city and county are all now included and should have access to fibre powered broadband and this is great news. Residents should check online with their broadband provider to see if they qualify for an upgrade to the new fibre powered network.
“In recent years since the pandemic began, we have all seen how important it is to have good broadband.”
He concluded: “This new upgrade is very welcome and hopefully more and more people will see the benefits. The NBI rollout is ongoing and more areas will be included in the next phase of the rollout.”
