The contents of a west coast property overloooking the Atlantic will feature in the items to be offered at Galway Auction Rooms in Kilcolgan next weekend.
Some 1300 lots will be offered online on Sunday and Monday, and items include antique furniture, Irish art, jewellery, Irish silver, Waterford glass, Persian rugs, and pub/ home bar items.
Galway Auction Rooms says among the possible highlights is an original one-off John Behan sculpture of an Irish famine scene, in addition to art by Markey Robinson, Arthur K Maderson, Louis Le Brocquy, Elizabeth Brophy, and JP Rooney. A large brass and leather club fender, 19th century gilt mirror, leather top writing desk, are also among the items.
The auction can be viewed in person at Galway Auction Rooms in Kilcolgan on Friday Mary 27 and Saturday May 28, followed by the live auction online on Sunday May 29 and Monday May 30 starting at 11am.
