Renmore Church Gate Collection
Renmore Parish Development Association CLG (Community Employment Project ) is holding its annual church gate collection on Saturday & Sunday next May 14 and May 15 at all Masses.
This collection will help with the running costs of the DSP Community & Employment scheme (formerly FAS ) within the area which supports the up- keep and maintenance of the church and the grounds, including the parks, hedges, flowers and shrub beds in Renmore in such beautiful condition all year round.
Renmore Parish Development Association are always welcoming new participants who are eligible through social welfare criteria to working directly with the local community project .
They are also always open to new ideas or visions and the committee would be happy to welcome new members to our meetings which are advertised locally.
They wish to thank the Renmore community and look forward to your continued support which is greatly appreciated.
Cubbard hopeful over trees
Cllr Mike Cubbard is hopeful that the Galway City Council can replace trees damaged in Westside Park at the weekend.
“It is disapointing to see that some of the trees in Westside Park were damaged,” Cllr Cubbard says. “Locals within the community take absolute pride in this amazing amenity so there is understandable anger at this.
“I have contacted the Parks Department of Galway City Council to look at replacing the damaged trees and would appeal to anyone who knows who is responsible for this damage to contact the gardaí.”
He concluded: “A lot of people work very hard to maintain this park to a brilliant standard, I cannot fathom how someone else would see this as acceptable behaviour.” — Cian O’Connell
