NUI Galway, in partnership with the HEA, is launching the Inventioneers summer camp from June 7 to 10 2022. The Inventioneers summer camp is for second level students in transition year and senior cycle who want to solve everyday problems related to sustainability in extraordinary ways.
The one-week free camp will focus on the theme of ‘Upcycling for Sustainability’ and will develop the entrepreneurial and innovation mindset of participants using tools such as design thinking and the lean canvas. The summer camp will also give students the opportunity to receive first-hand experience of third level from students studying a variety of disciplines. The camp will be a positive environment for young entrepreneurs to develop, test, and pitch their ideas.
Speaking about the camp Natalie Walsh, director of entrepreneurial development in NUI Galway IdeasLab, said: “We have worked with multiple schools across the region in recent years and have been so impressed with their enthusiasm and innovation, the Inventioneers summer camp gives us the opportunity to now broaden out our programme nationally and work with future innovators on a topic that has impacted upon all of our lives. We are so excited to launch this programme and work with students to tackle sustainability problems that they are facing in their homes, schools, and communities.”
The camp will run daily from 10am to 3pm from June 7 to 10 in IdeasLab on the NUI Galway campus. Places are limited and the camp is free to attend.
Those interested in attending the Inventioneers summer camp can register by Friday May 27 at theinventioneers.eventbrite.ie
