Public meeting on Galway’s traffic congestion

The Gluas Committee invites Galway citizens to attend a public meeting on Tuesday next to discuss traffic congestion in Galway City and solutions to the problem, such as the Very Light Rail option.

The meeting on May 3, will begin at 7.30 pm at the Hardiman Hotel, Eyre Square Galway and attendees are invited to pre-register online beforehand, or on the night.

The meeting will be chaired by Keith Finnegan and guest speakers on the night will include Frank Mc Donald, who previously worked as the environmental editor of The Irish Times; and Prof. Kevin Leyden of NUI Galway, who will share his expertise on smart and sustainable city planning and the necessity of Transport-Orientated Development.

Joining the speakers will also be two Chartered Engineers with a wealth of knowledge and experience and an understanding of Very Light Rail systems, Brendan Mulligan and Murt Coleman.
