Students love this course! The programme is a practical, hands on course, that allows the actors the opportunity to experience the business of film making from both ‘in front of’ and ‘behind’ the camera.
Designed as an introductory course, suitable for beginners, the participants collaborate to create, film and produce a short film. Becoming the actors; directors; writers; camera and sound people – the short film is created! This course focuses upon acting and making a short film on a shoe string budget! AND it’s lots of fun! Highlighting techniques used, through a series of exercises and games. Establishing differences between SCREEN and STAGE and VOICE OVER.
Using film scripts and cameras, actors will experience the buzz that is show biz!
Students get the opportunity to explore audition techniques that will give them the edge! The fun of brainstorming with a cast, to choose the plot and theme, through to the finished script. All short films are edited and entered into Film Festivals. Trading Faces Film School has had the honour of being awarded in many categories in both Galway Junior Film Fleadh and Fresh Film Festival.
Students will also have the opportunity of joining the Casting Agency photo-shoot.
Workshops are held on Saturdays in St Enda’s, Threadneedle Road, Galway.
Film School is staffed with Artistic directors Claire Power & Robbie Walsh. Acting director Caoimhe O Connor. Camera director & Editor Shane Mullarkey.
