Stephen Walsh's sweet 88th minute strike ensured Galway United drew with Wexford FC at Eamonn Deacy Park.

John Caulfield's side trailed following an Aaron Dobbs goal, but Walsh responded in the closing stages.

Wexford pounced to hit the front in the 18th minute courtesy of an opportunistic Dobbs goal.

United were nearly back on terms four minutes later, but Conor McCormack's right footed effort struck the woodwork.

Then a Gary Boylan cross located Walsh, who was denied by an Alex Moody save.

At the opposite end, though, United survived a scare two minutes before the break when Diego Portilla made a brave block to thwart Dinny Corcoran.

Dobbs released Jack Doherty in the 57th minute, but Conor Kearns made a critical save.

Two minutes from time Walsh delivered another moment of inspiration, scoring a delightful goal, as United earned a point.
