Crucial weekend in Galway FA premier division

A number of important matches take place this weekend

It remains a particularly interesting and exciting Galway FA premier division season with an important weekend looming.

On Friday evening FAI Junior Cup semi-finalists Salthill Devon host Colemanstown United at Drom.

A splendid away win over North End United in Wexford illustrated Salthill's ability with Vinny Faherty (2 ) and Mikie Fox scoring in a 3-1 win.

Colemanstown drew 1-1 with Tuam Celtic as Thomas Carr and Pearse Farrell traded goals.

Tuam face Loughrea in a crucial match with significant relegation implications on Friday.

The following day Athenry and Corrib Rangers meet in a vital fixture, while Mervue United and Maree-Oranmore clash at Fahy's Field.

Corrib Celtic and Galway Hibernians, both eager to keep some distance from the bottom four, tussle at Bohermore on Sunday morning, while West United and St Bernard's are scheduled to play at O'Connor Park also.
