Talented Claregalway artist Geraldine Kilmartin recently held her first post-COVID art exhibition in Oranmore, attracting a large audience of art lovers from across Galway.
Hosted in the charming surroundings of the recently renovated Brazco Coffee Academy, Geraldine exhibited many of her latest original paintings and most popular prints, to the delight of those who were in attendance.
Geraldine’s artistic inspiration comes from beauty in everyday life and her many pieces of work reflect this ethos, such as her series of pieces featuring the humble feather and her delightful works showcasing local flowers in their native surroundings.
In her speech on the night Geraldine talked about how, at a time like this in the world, beauty is not so easily seen in the everyday but this makes art all the more important to us.
“We need to remind ourselves that beauty is still here, all around us,” she said.
The times we are living in was very much a feature on the night with donations for the Ukraine Relief Effort collected and a generous donation of 10% of her sales also offered by Geraldine for the cause.
