Improvement works to ‘dangerous junctions’

Works to take place at the Lisdonagh Road and in the Raheen area

Improvement works are to take place at two junctions, one at the Lisdonagh Road, the other in Raheen, both of which have been described as “dangerous”.

Funding for the works has been provided by the Galway County Council to two community involvement schemes. A total of €30,000 has been provided for the removal of walls and ditches at the junction at the top of the Lisdonagh Road - located between Headford and Caherlistrane - and set back of the same, with new fencing to provide improved sight lines.

An allocation of 25,000 for Raheen to also remove walls and ditches and with new fencing to provide improved sightliness.

Fianna Fáil county councillor, Mary Hoade has welcomed the allocations. She has also publicly thanked the landowners and Caherlistrane Kilcoona Community Council for their work on this issue.
