The Doris Day Story at the Town Hall

The life and times of a Oscar-winning actress, singer, and animal activist brought to the stage

APRIL 2022 marks the centenary of the birth of Oscar-winning actress, Golden Globe, and Grammy Award winner, and lifetime animal activist, Doris Day.

To mark this anniversary of a screen icon, a new show, The Doris Day Story, from the producer and director of the award-winning Eva Cassidy Story, comes to the Town Hall Theatre, on Monday April 4 at 8pm.

Doris Day was best known for her cheeky smile, on-screen magic, and vocal talents. In the 1950s she was the top earning film star in the world and though her on-screen persona was full of romance and wholesomeness, the real story was much more dramatic.

With video projection, a swinging jazz band, and impeccable vocals The Doris Day Story will feature such songs as ‘Love Me or Leave Me’, ‘Perhaps, Perhaps’, ‘Pillow Talk’, ‘Black Hills of Dakota’, and ‘Move Over Darling’ as the production charts her life as a Jazz-singer to an idol of the silver screen, and beyond.

Tickets are available via the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
