Alan Murphy's Galway WFC host DLR Waves in the WNL at Eamonn Deacy Park on Saturday evening (6pm ).
Last weekend an accomplished and physical Peamount United defeated Galway 4-0 so Murphy is hopeful that his team can respond.
"We are not going to lie down and think the world is over or anything like that," Murphy says. "There is another game next week, we will try to fix the little things that Peamount put pressure on us with.
"Again I'm not too down after it, I hate to lose, but I think we are still in a good place in terms of the work that we have done.
"It was a strange game, but we lost the game. We need to learn, I learned a lot, but we will need to learn from it.
"I looked back at it, four goals went in against us, there was no other shot on target, it just shows they managed the game really well, they put us under pressure, at times, and converted when they did."
In the opening weeks of the season Graham Kelly's DLR Waves have defeated Treaty United and Sligo Rovers.
"They have done really well so it will be a tough test for us, a different type of a test than Peamount and Cork," Murphy says.
"We are looking forward to it, we need to look at everyone who was above us last season, to see can we make ground on them.
"DLR are one of those so we need to put our performance out there to see can it match them."
