Bruen’s Once Were Cops to be filmed

Screenwriter David Logan has been asked by Articulus Entertainment to write a film adaptation of Once Were Cops by the award winning Galway crime writer Ken Bruen.

Once Were Cops follows two unbalanced New York police officers cutting their way through the city’s criminal underworld. Articulus principal Steven Sawalich will produce along with Gil Adler (Superman Returns ).

This is the second Ken Bruen novel to be made into a film. Shooting is currently under way of Bruen’s other novel London Boulevard, starring Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell.

Farrell plays a London criminal who gets involved with Knightley, who plays a reclusive young actress. Ray Winstone will play a former crime boss; David Thewlis, the reclusive actress’s agoraphobic business manager; and Anna Friel, the criminal’s sister. London Boulevard will be directed by William Monahan.
