ON ST Patrick’s Day, The EYE Cinema in Wellpark will mark its 17th birthday, and to celebrate, tickets to all shows will be €7 from Thursday March 17 to Sunday 20.
On March 17 2005 the EYE Cinema opened its doors. Since then, it has screened all major Hollywood blockbusters, family films, arthouse films, independent and foreign releases, and live broadcasts of operas, ballets, stage plays, concerts and sports events. It has also hosted national and local film premières and countless corporate events.
In 2007 The EYE won the O2 Ability Awards. In 2010 it was the recipient of the Entertainment.ie Best Cinema Award, and in 2017 scooped the Best Irish Cinema Experience title at the Irish Hospitality Awards.
Titles showing over the weekend include The Batman; Galway made, Irish language film, Foscadh, X, The Nan Movie, The Phantom of the Open, Wolf, Sing 2, Uncharted, and Belfast. Tickets are available via www.eyecinema.ie
