Work begins on Galway Bay Sailing Club’s multipurpose rooms development

Minister of State, Hildegarde Naughton, gets work underway at official ‘turning of the sod’

Work has begun on Galway Bay Sailing Club’s latest development of multipurpose rooms, which will include training rooms, a kitchenette, and a wetsuit storage area.

The official ‘turning of the sod’ to mark the start of works was carried out by the Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Dep Hildegarde Naughton, last Sunday, at Rinville, where the club has been located since 1979.

The second part of the new development is a large secure equipment storage unit and equipment repair area. GBSC has also received Sports Capital funding of €140,000 towards funding these developments. It allows the club to proceed immediately as full planning permission has been granted for the development.
