Ballindereen needs traffic calming measures says Creed

The absence of appropriate traffic control, crossings, or off-road parking at Ballindereen National School is putting the lives of its 130 pupils at risk.

This is the view of the Green Party’s Loughrea area candidate Patrick Creed who said residents are concerned that unless there are traffic calming measures installed around the school, a serious accident will happen.

“Throughout the county pedestrian crossings should be provided outside all schools and traffic speed restrictions of 30km per hour enforced,” he said. “People drive far too fast throughout the county and its surprising more children have not been injured to date. Let’s act now before it is too late.”
