Draft Galway City Development Plan goes on public display

Public consultation drop-in sessions to take place across the city from next week

The Draft Galway City Development Plan 2023-2029 is currently on public display, with public consultation drop-in sessions starting next week.

The draft development plan is available to view and download from consult.galwaycity.ie and www.galwaycity.ie It is also available to inspect in the council’s planning office, and at all city libraries.

Consultation sessions

The public consultation sessions will take place in The Harbour Hotel (Wednesday March 9 ); Maldron Hotel, Sandy Road (Thursday March 10 ); Connacht Hotel (Tuesday March 15 ); and the Clybaun Hotel (Wednesday March 16 ). All sessions will run from 4pm to 8pm.

“These consultation events will give those who attend an opportunity to speak with members of the Galway City Council’s planning team and find out more about the draft development plan,” said City Hall senior planner, Caroline Phelan.

Development plan clinics

Draft development plan clinics will be held at the council’s planning office each Tuesday morning until April 13. Members of the public can meet with a member of the planning team to discuss any aspect of the plan. Appointments are necessary and can be made via consult.galwaycity.ie or 091 - 536599.

Submissions on the plan can be made via post, to Senior Planner, Planning Department, City Hall, College Road, Galway, H91 X4K8; or email, via [email protected]. Submissions should be made in one form only. The closing date for receipt of written submissions is Wednesday April 13 2022.
